I would check Amazon or your local hardware store for "knurled thumb screw m3-XX". XX is the length, in inches or centimeters, that you require.

Those are pretty small diameter for a thumb screw but for a computer most are 6-32 threaded.

Here are some options, and a kit that has a lot of M3 based ones.

actually the diameter isnt as important as the length and your links are too short sadly

In that case how long do you need the threaded section to be, these are just standard thumb screws for cases.

The links seem seem to be working for me.

What are you using the screws for? Is there a length that you need at a minimum and maximum?

For that small of a diameter and length it's not a common size, so it will be harder to get and most likely special order but they do exist.

so what would be a common diameter for that length? im not looking to special order

What is your application we might be able to find you something easily available off the shelf. Usually for a small diameter screws like M3 you can get various lengths but for thumb screws they just aren’t as commonly available in that many lengths.

alright here i go:

this is the concept for my system when its done

image.png.1cef24f62d222690eddb128ab7feb010.png

mounting everything i plan on doing like this (notice marke the aluminium rods green to help visualize)

image.png.3e53fe6b19d3f13975a8c66f79dbb325.png

they are mounted to the chassis like this

image.png.79539269d4dc4c8c0594b5aacd47d1d4.png

where i metall glued and screwed where possible the yellow angle pieces to the case frame im gonna cut in a piece and bend it so it functions as a post i can mount the green beam to. the beam itself is 1x1cm but then on the other side theres this id like to all clamp down together

image.png.d11123c4dcf873bb304394c8f7def78f.png

where now i made the yellow angle piece transparent to see better and the thumbscrew is red.

This is one I was able to find you may be able to get longer ones more readily available if it’s a large fastener. I’m not sure what industrial suppliers you have in Germany but check for ones that are willing to sell to the public, they would be your best option to source fasteners.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/sourcingmap®-M4x40mm-Thread-Plated-Knurled/dp/B0769JYTBL/ref=mp_s_a_1_32?ie=UTF8&qid=1534782479&sr=8-32&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=thumb+screw+40mm

A good alternative would be to use socket head cap screws. I would recommend to use two fasteners per connection though that way you won’t have any worry about rotation at that point. Therefore you won’t have to use adhesive at the joints and keeping it nice and modular.
