hey guys! I have a huge problem. I'm trying to install a wired connection to another building Via Ethernet but the building is too far [past the 100 meters mark], so I need help with finding a solution to this. I don't want to compromise my network speed [it being a gigabit network] to the other building. I don't wan't to go wireless because it will reduce the network speed from device to device as well as there being multiple metal buildings in the way. the wire will have to be above ground hanging in the air from pole to pole we might be able to run a PVC underground most of the way though some of the wiring might be exposed

. if you guys have any ideas let me know!

I think your only option is fibre, unless you want the hassle of ethernet repeaters and potential interference with outdoor cabling.

ASUS B650E-F GAMING WIFI + R7 7800X3D + 2x Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30-36-36-76  + ASUS RTX 4090 TUF Gaming OC

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) Backup: GL.iNet GL-X3000/ Spitz AX Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz) WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz)
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~1200Mbit down, 115Mbit up, variable)

I have run 1G over Cat6A shielded outdoor rated cable for approx 150m but it is entirely dependant on the cable quality.  It was only done as it was the cheapest option as the distance ideally should of been covered by a fiber run.  The individual was told it may not function, but we had a 305m cat6a reel to use and we did a quick test on a 150m cut off with the switches attached powered up in one building to make sure all was well at 1G. Then dug the trench n ran the cabling, your mileage may vary as it is completely outside noted specification for the transmission speed and cable.

there is no good place to put a network switch between the two buildings i'm trying to connect. I guess the best way to go is fiber. you guys have any shopping list options i can use? By the way, my network already uses Cat6 Weatherproof cables been thinking about upgrading part of the network to a 10G when i have the money to put in a NAS or some other server [not anytime soon].

Outdoor rated is pretty expensive

OM1 (orange ) max length at 1gbps 275m

If you want 10g use OM3

Your switch on both ends of the link will need sfp+ transceivers

Let me know what switches (or PC) you have and I can spec sfp+ transceivers

Hope this helps!
