Linux 16.04 how do I prevent it from upgrading to 18.04?

Go to solution Solved by Lurick,

Just never issue "sudo do-release-upgrade" and you'll stay on 16.04

I just wanna stay at 16.04 for a while cos I realised that a lot of the repos and apps only runs well on 16.04/.

How do I prevent it from automatically updating to the latest OS?

Or does ubuntu do that???

Which option should I un-check under software update?

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.

Ubuntu will never upgrade itself automatically, you have to confirm it.

upon installing ubuntu 16.04.. it keeps popping out this window that says:

choose password for new keyring.

what does that mean??

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.

Are you using automatic login? The keyring is where keys (such as SSH keys) and passwords are saved.
