Windows 10 updates WTF?

Because their OS sucks and they know it. It's gotta be pretty bad if you have to put ads for your own OS inside your own OS.

Not much we can do. I run a combination of Windows and Linux, but I prefer Linux anyday... I just wish it'd run games...

Because M$ is being M$

 

I hate auto Windows updates, partly why I bought a MacBook Pro instead of a equally priced Windows laptop that could have had a lot more power. The difference between Windows 10 and every other OS is one word: consent.

Same here. I use Windows because I need it for my games and some software, but Linux is vastly superior. I prefer macOS as well, but that also lacks gaming support.

I've got my main rig with windows 10. Lenovo Legion with Windows 10, but I'm really thinking about switching it to Linux, but I'm not 100% sure because it is my school laptop, and so I'm not sure if I'll need anything windows related.

 

I've got my Plex server I'm about to build. I was going to do Linux on that, but mounting drives is kinda a pain. I've got Windows 10 for it and my buddy gave me server 12, so I've got options there.

 

The my other laptop I'm about to install elementary on it for a deluge machine, and then a handful of raspberry pi projects. lol

Ooooooo... I do need to pick me up Raspberry Pi for some tinkering. And at some point I plan to test Linux with a GPU passthrough to a windows VM for gaming.

I've got two atm, but I've got a class starting soon for college that we'll get to mess with Uinx using them. pretty excited!!!

 

I'm probably going to use the other Pi as a pi-hole adblocker.

Because there is nothing needed about Windows 10 feature updates, and the risk that comes with updating Windows 10 due to Microsoft's terrible testing and quality isn't worth installing feature updates just to get security updates that might protect a system against malware when there's a much more significant possibility that the feature updates will break things or even the entire OS on their own.

 

Modern Microsoft is synonymous with shit quality and shit practices. The only livable thing to do, IMO, is to disable Windows Update on whichever version of Windows a person has. Having Windows Updates enabled in Windows 10 makes Windows 10 simply intolerable and a disaster machine.
