Is it safe to leave side panel of case open?

gg2me

So basically I picked up an RX 580 8GB and it doesn't completely fit my case. The side panel can't be screwed on essentially. So, improvising, I just draped a towel over the side of the PC. Is this safe, or would I be better off just leaving the side panel exposed? So far the GPU is running anywhere from 60-75 C in PUBG and the CPU is running at 50-55 C.

Those GPU temps are kinda hot although safe but leaving the panel open is fine although stuff can get in it

I mean test benches are open air soo xD

Let me guess ... the cables are interfering with the side panel?

Perhaps you could create some clearance where needed by taking a Dremel to the side panel.    Not the most elegant solution, but better than having the entire case open.

Those GPU temps are normal as RX 580s pretty much keep fans at minimum unless they hit their temperature target (default 75C).

You can leave it open as long as you don't smoke in the room and your room is clean and not Dusty and you should be good

But if you leave it open for a long period of time like a month or two and will collect more dust
