Why should i buy a mechanical keyboard?

Go to solution Solved by dizmo,

If the Corsair keyboard is better quality, get that one. If the Sharkoon is decent quality (I've never felt one), then I'd get that one. Mechanical switches just feel a little nicer.
Really, though, it comes entirely down to personal preference. You might like membrane keyboards more. You might hate Red, or Kaihl switches. It's something you really have to try out for yourself, and figure out if you like it or if you don't. It's not something you can find out online.

Generally, mechanical keyboards will last longer.

I haven't found they're any more sensitive.

Welcome to the forum!

Hey guys,i need a new keyboard, and under the price that i can spend i've found two keyboards,Corsair K55 ( Membrane) and Sharkoon SGK3 (Mechanical). (EDIT:At the price of those may have another good options at your country, but in Brazil at the price range of R$ 250 {and with numpad} those seems the better ones)

I pretend using them mostly for gaming, but i don't know the differences between a mechanical and a membrane keyboard, besides that i've heard that mechanical keyboards lasts long and are more sensitive,so help me please ? . Thanks for the attention!

To title, you shouldn’t. It’s not a huge difference. Akeyboard is a keyboard. They’re a bit more satisfying.

However LTT did a video on mechanical keyboards under 50$.

Red Dragon was their favorite company on Amazon.

I wish that I had a mechanical keyboard as I'm tired of using my crappy laptop one. I always miss keystrokes and sometimes in games I will press it down and it won't register. Other than the sensitivity and the clickiness I don't see the advantage

Also, I'm following because that was literally my favorite show as a kid

The only reason I'm here is that I have homework that I don't want to do

PC  Specs   CPU: Intel Celeron N3060 |GPU: Intel HD graphics 400 |RAM2 gigs  |STORAGE16 gigs

It took me half an hour to find where to change my signature :(

was my favorite one too  lmao, but while doing this answer i researched a little bit and found people talking that mechanical keyboards are around 5-10 ms faster than membrane ones, but i didn't see any source saying that (i readed that in a forum) so it has something to do with sensitivity or he was just talking shit?

do you love annoying the shit out of family, roommates and neighbors with incessant clicking? Get a mechanical keyboard.

They can be but I was talking about how sometimes when I awkwardly press down a key it will not register and nothing will happen. The clickiness can help with that and also the shape of the keys
