Do Titan GPU's come at the same time as the GTX ##80's cards?

saif96

i've been wondering, when the GTX 1180 comes out do you think the titan XT would come out at the same time? or do titan cards come out a few months after the latest GPU's get released?

In the past they've all come out at different times.

Some say that one of the reasons for why Nvidia staggers the release of their products like this is to ensure that their products are always in the press and being reviewed and discussed for as long as possible.
If you release 10 cards at once, they all get reviewed at once and the press for them all happens within a month or two, then there's hardly any coverage of them until the next generation comes out. Release one card every month for a year, and you get a years worth of advertisement and discussion around your product.

Think the TITAN line up is not going to be part of the GTX line up any more.

If you wanted the next gen TITAN card you should have bought the V already, it's probably going to edge out the GTX 1180 significantly either ways... but you're over-paying, not worth it.

my plan is this, if nvidia decides to release  the titan XT at the same time as the GTX 1180 this August-september and the cost would be around $1500 then im going with the titan XT, but if they decide to release it a few more months after the GTX 1180 and and the cost would be $3000 then the titan XT is just out of the question and ill stick with the GTX 1180 instead

problem is you wont know when the titan is coming out if ever. so i personally would not sit around waiting for it to come out or wait for news and instead buy 1180 immediately and have as long as possible before another card beats its performance. Thats why i buy on ti series and try to buy immediately. but if you got the cash you do you.

my aim really is to game at 1440p, mid-high graphics 144hz on competitive online games such as rainbow six, overwatch, PUBG (i need bout 120-144fps)

and 4K, HDR 98hz, ultra graphics, 10bit on story games such as resident evil 7, far cry 5, GTA 5, etc (60-98fps)

do you think think the GTX 1180 is enough for that kind of power?

(note, im using the PG27UQ that supports these specs)

The Titan V is $3k. You don't buy a Titan for gaming.
