Hey guys!

I have been having a hard time finding a good (big) computer desk that is comfortable and roomy enough. What I mean is this. I am looking for a computer desk that can hold:

-2x - 27" monitors

-my full-size gaming desktop

-my 15" laptop

-Lab equipment (networking)

-Extra room for food/drinks

I don't like my computer being on the floor because of dust, but right now my desk is too small.

I am also looking for  desk where I can have the monitors on it, but at the same time it is thick enough (distance between monitor/user) where I can put my keyboard + mouse (black widow + Death Stalker) on the desk. So I can rest my arms on the desk.

My price cap is $300 dollars... I might end up making one myself to fit my needs, but if I can buy one... it is preferred.

Thanks!

-Will

Make your own desk. I made my desk out of a 86" (I think) long door. And I love it! I have two 26" monitors and they fit pretty good.

All  you need is to buy a door and some 4x4 boards (for legs). As well as some 2x1 boards for desk stabilization.

For that price your way better off making one, or if you can afford more get one custom made with all the cool shelves and features you want. Mass produced furniture isn't worth shit anymore it's all garbage that cost them 10 bucks to make and they charge 699 bucks for it.

I agree with everyone else. Build your own. Use a thicker plywood, or if you're on a budget OSB. I'm building shelving in my walk in closet and it cost me maybe $50.

If you're in a city, try and find auction houses. They'll often be selling office equipment dirt cheap. You just have to find a way to get that massive desk home.

Add some wings with triangle brackets. Then add a raised shelf to hold your monitors. I just added a wing to mine since my PC was on my floor. I could easily add a second wing and a shelf if I wanted to add monitors. Pics in my gallery.

I have my setup on a 72" catering party table with the 1 piece wooden top.  There is enough room for my case, monitor, a big all in 1 printer/copier/fax machine, plus much more room to spare.  This thing is rated to hold around 1000lbs, & there is tons of room underneath so my legs don't get all cramped up.  Not as solid as a huge executive desk... but as long as you aren't shaking it violently it is very stable.  The best thing about these types of tables is that they are easy to clean & require little maintenance.

My rig =SCOUT2=
