GPU temps HOT HOT HOT

Hello all!!.... So I just picked up a GTX 1080 TI FTW3, installed it, updated my drivers.. Etc Etc... Started 2 look at temps using CAM software, Took 2 pictures... 1st is of my PC Idling. 2nd is right after playing 20 minutes of WoW and a pop up told me I was running how.. (note all i was doing was standing in legion zones and working on my ELVui setup. (not even raiding).. Max temp of 81 C (cpu seemed to do fine).. anyone know how to troubleshoot? I dontr think this is normal...

use a more aggressive GPU fan curve then.

GPUs get hot? Adjust the fan curve a little or repaste if you want

okay, so i downloaded precision X and set them to 1500 RPM (about 50%) do i have to keep precision X open the whole time?.,.. everytime i exit out of it my fans stop spinning.

1) CAM is crap

2) Those temps are ok for a 1080Ti, I had the 1070 and it was normal for it to hit 80C while gaming

this is 5 minutes into WoW.. standing still.... do my fans really have to push that hard to to maintain a reasonable 65.?... (im not even in a 25 man raid yet)

Seems like bad airflow. Shouldn’t be at 65c with 50% load. Isn’t much of a card issue at that point aside form getting a fancy open air cooler when a blower is needed.

im getting 160 + FPS in my games... im using a ASUS rog 34pgq yada yada.. anyway to limit my frames to 100 FPS so it mkaes it not push as hard?

took my side panel off, did absolutely nothing... same temp doing the same things... So i started messing around..

 

Turned on Vsync (limits my WoW FPS to 60) but still max settings... and everything seems to be doing fine?... 

Game issue? Or still poor airflow based on my above setup?

note: i am doing the same thing.. Just with V sync enabled now?

I own a 1080ti FTW3 Black. I used to have issues with my temps, specially while running games in 4k (73~76c, at 65% fan speed). 1 day I decided to open up the card, clean and re-apply the thermal paste (NT-H1) and my temps dropped to 65~69c (55% fan speed).
