Music while programming

Taduksas

Hello,

What styles of music you are listening while programming?
Personally, I like jazz or reggie. It helps to stay in positive mood and focus.

I heard that gaming or movies soundtracks helps to stay more focus.

If possible, could someone share a playlist?

to me i find that when gaming or even working (as i work late i am allowed to listen to music) i find more upbeat or "fast" raps such as Technine and Hopsin help with work efficiency or brain "Speed" as keeping up with the music allows me to work with a bit of "emergency". where as slower songs such as piano solos or some raps (NF) help me when i am trying to increase brain "efficiency" to help be more effective with the work being done

(will use faster type songs "tech nine" when i am running around in an fps as an assault character as i need quicker reaction times, whereas the slower ones like NF allow me to play sniper really well as i notice a whole lot more in the way of smaller details but overall reaction time is decreased {i know that sounds like a backwards statement i just have noticed thats how my brain "works"}, listening to slower songs have helped me in say battlefield 1 hitting iron sight shots at beyond 300m with ease)

as far as programming goes listening to a fast song will help with programming speed but going slower will help you not make mistakes. personally i would choose something like NF as his songs are a mixture of both fast and slow songs "Witt lowry is another but his are generally faster than NF's"

I have heard people say that remember this has helped them complete assignments on time, re-listening to this song right now i have noticed a bit more efficiency in the typing of this message haha

if you prefer piano pieces i am particularly fond of piano version of Kreisler's Liebesleid - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j97z3ffswd8

or even the Moonlight Sonata's third movement - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WolqGAgiolM

but as sadness isn't really something that you seem to want may i suggest Kreisler's Liebesfreud - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cZNWZiDwJg

I don't listen to music as often, since I usually have youtube open on one of my screens, but when I do it's usually either my classical music playlist or just a mass pentatonix binge.

Recently I’ve been listening to nine inch nails. That John carmack approach to programming haha.

I used to do classical, songs me types of rock, EDM, Metal. I kinda wore out a lot of music but discovered some obscure things like ragtime covers, electro swing, dubstep remixes, noise (not pleasant to listen to AT ALL). Some 10 hour things like heyayaya, hitler singing ieva polka, putin playing snoop dogg. Obama singing pop & so on.

Anything that's somewhat quiet/calm and without perceivable/distracting words. An example would be the Stellaris OST.

Usually, post-rock. It is sufficiently non-distracting while still being pleasant to listen to.

March of the Empire. Either that or Jingo Bell.

Either EDM, or some dramtical music with a lot of tension to keep my energy level high. But nothing with main vocals, those just distract me.

If I need to focus on something I usually put on some heavy metal. Electro swing can be nice as well.
