Need help with ssd.

I got a new ssd and I plugged it in and it shows up in the device manager but when I go to "This PC" it is not there.Which means that I can't save anything.Is there something I can do.

Did you assign it a letter and format it?

 

Edit: as in make a new volume?

Hold down windows key and press R. this window should pop up.

 

 

type in "diskmgmt.msc

 

 

find the ssd based on how much space it has

 

 

right click and go change letter and drive paths

 

 

choose a lettter and hit ok.

 

restart pc.

Show me a screenshot of what you're looking at. Are you on Windows 10?

OK I am windows 10 also I did it and it said to format the drive did that 2 and now its ok thanks a lot

Also do u know how can I transfer a game to the ssd?

Assuming you are using Steam, it is not possible to transfer a game while it is installed, but you can uninstall it, (and although it might be a bitch to wait) and then the next time you install it and see this window

 

 

choose your new volume under the new drive letter instead
