Hi, this is my first post here. I have a gaming PC built 2 years ago with:

CPU: i5 6600k clocked to 4.4Ghz

Motherboard: MSI Z170A Gaming M3 (with the latest bios)

CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 evo x

RAM: 2x4GB G.Skill Ripjaws V at 2400Mhz (i ordered an other 8GB)

GPU: GeForce GTX 1070 gigabyte

PSU: Corsair CX650M

144hz monitor

Windows 10 Enterprise 64 bit

I mostly play Overwatch (pretty competitively) (graphic setting: everthing on low except texture on max and anti-aliasing on medium SMAA low), i noticed that with uncapped frame rate my CPU, with nothing open other then OW and MSI afterburner (to check cpu and gpu stuff), reaches from 85 to 100% most of the time and my gpu stayes between 60% and 80%. I wonder if it's normal that a i5 6600k bottlenecks my GPU so much or if i have setup something wrong. No i don't have any virus malware or anything like that, no updates in the background and such.

My CPU temps are fine overing around 60° with 1.35 volts (i tried going to 4.5Ghz but it isn't stable even with 1.37v and i don't really know if going higher is worth it).

If you have any advice on how to solve it or you need other info on my rig just let me know.

Thanks

OFC you have a CPU "bottleneck" when you use lowest settings... I guess that you should be getting over 200FPS anyway so I dont see the issue.

Just bump up the settings for no FPS loss and higher quality.

Yeah, this is expected behaviour. The lower the settings, the less GPU load. Your performance becomes CPU bound. Either up the settings or overclock further to reduce the bottleneck.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

Yeah thats what i tried (bumping up the settings) but the problem still remains cpu always at 100% and gpu between 70 and 80%, i just checked and tested it again to be sure and also higher setting = less frames > input lag. I know it's very little (talking about a few ms but is still something).
