Is it worth buying this GPU?

Hello!

I found an craigslist listing for "dead gpu's for cheap", each gpu costs 5€, no matter if it's 680 or a 460. It says "the fans are spinning". Is it worth getting gtx 680 or 7870 and try to use other cables to monitors, heat it up with heat gun or put it in a oven? I would be happy if the gpu would work like atleast 2 months.

For that cheap, I suppose it would be worth trying to bring it back. Especially if you can get a GTX 680 or 7870 for that low.

I would spend a 5 on it to see if it worked its a craps shoot it could work it could just be done or you could get your 2 months out of it this is the kind of gambling I like no matter what you get parts

inb4 it's just a single capacitor and you hotwire it and fix it and all of a sudden you have a working 680 for 5 bucks

Sure. You can take the heatsinks and fans off, and sell them for like $20 - $40 as parts as someone may be looking for a cooler for a card.

Absolutely. I'd get at LEAST the 7870.
