Hi everyone!

New user here, been watching linus for a while (at least a year.) After a lot of work, finally gonna get components to make my own computer, and I wanted to know if there are any recommendations, tips, components that i should change, or things that I forgot. Please, any feedback, even if its something that I SHOULD know, is very welcomed!

Few things to keep in mind, I live in Argentina, so prices are shit, I don't have a lot of cash, and my priority is to get a computer and in the future upgrade it. I like indie games, I dont care to much if I have to go to 720p, or use medium graphics. I only got Portal 1 and 2, Terraria, and Minecraft so i'm not crying about PUBG, my only absolute need is for the computer to be useful for my engineering classes in University: Autocad, Dialux, Revit.

Ok, now on to my planned build. I'm gonna use some hard drives I got lying around.

build does look good overall.  only thing that i would recomend is getting a different power supply.  get a well named brand one like corsair, evga etc unless that brand is common and highly regarded where you currently live.  also you might be able to find a cheaper board, look at the ab chipset

Current Rig=  AMD Ryzen 9 5900x, Asus Crosshair Hero VIII, EVGA RTX 3070 FTW3 ultra, 32gb Corsair Vengence Pro RGB 3000hz White, EVGA 750 P2 PSU, 1TB Samsung 980 Pro, 500gb samsung 860 evo, 250GB Samsung 850 evo, 2TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus, 2TB seagate firecuda sshd,  LianLi PC 011 Dynamic XL ROG edition, Corsair h150i elite capelix

  • Don't pay for Windows, just install it and use it. The only thing you miss out on is being able to change the aesthetics, and that's money that could really be spent better elsewhere on a budget build like this.
  • Look into a better power supply, especially if you have dirty power.
  • Try and get at least a B series motherboard so as you can overclock and really get the true performance out of the AMD chip.

You may be able to get a Win10 OS key for less online. I haven't done it, but others have had luck with them.

For CAD modeling, you really want a discrete GPU, but that would be expensive (At least $7,000 more if bought new) I'd recommend looking around for used cards or for local deals in the following months. GPU prices should be getting better. You should be able to run the programs as is, but it would be slow.

Ok! Love the sugestions.

Ill see about the powersource, its really common here, and cheap and im only affected by power outages. But if im lucky ill find one from a more trustworthy brand.

The motherboard is something i was already looking at. Im looking at a b350 from gigabyte that i can get for a little bit more.

I cant get a gpu at the moment. It is way out of my price range. Because of the economy, lack of amazon, and port restriccions, sellers here charge 2x the price from the states when THAT price is already high. Mabey in the future.

Windows, im looking into those sites, and im seeing if a teacher of mine can give a product code.
