I cant wait brother. I need to buy asap so i can play with my gtx 970 g1 gaming, if i wait 9900k im pretty sure i cant use my current gpu it will bottleneck hard which i bought 2 days ago :(

Im using the same GPU with my 8700k currently. But im also not playing alot of GPU-Bound titles.. I saw a gain in FPS and more importantly Frametimes (less stutter) by upgrading from a 2600k @4,8GHz.. (winter) or 4.2GHz (summer).

It all depends on the games you play. If you play games that are heavy in the GPU limit it wont matter all that much i guess. But if you want to upgrade to a 144hz Monitor and highrefreshrate gaming, Ryzen is a mistake.

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x3D | MoBo: MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk | RAM: G.Skill F4-3600C15D-16GTZ @3800CL16 | GPU: RTX 2080Ti | PSU: Corsair HX1200 |

Case: Lian Li 011D XL | Storage: Samsung 970 EVO M.2 NVMe 500GB, Crucial MX500 500GB | Soundcard: Soundblaster ZXR | Mouse: Razer Viper Mini | Keyboard: Razer Huntsman TE Monitor: DELL AW2521H @360Hz |

In pubg im at ~130-144 FPS with my GTX970 G1 (Textures High, AA High, rest very low) lowest drop when parachuting/big cities to 120FPS...

In CSGO im at 500fps+ (1280*960)

I dont play Dota2

Ohhh so it wont bottleneck the i5 8400 or the ryzen 5 2600 with my gtx 970. I was worried too. Thanks for letting me know!

I will buy 2x8gb then. If its going to bottleneck im going to buy i5 7th gen so it wont bottleneck what do you think?

Yeah, that was the plan to get 16GiB of decent Memory in 2 Sticks so that you have real fun with the System and no Problems.

i5-7th gen is a very bad idea because there is nothing you can upgrade to!

You can neither use a 7k in a 300 series Board nor can you use an 8k in a 100 or 200 series Board...

And thus AMD makes a bit more sense because chances are that you can still use a Ryzen 3000 series (or however the real Zen 2 is called) in a good quality AM4 Board you get right now...

And even if not, you still can go for the 2700...

I’m gonna be running a gtx 960 with a 9700k xD

gou bottleneck is what you want, it will still run, maybe a bit bette, but it will be futerproofed much longer and you can just change the gpu some time in the future. If I was you i’d wait, save you in the long run but it’s up to you.

You should always atleast take two sticks of ram regardless of plattform, some games like Overwatch f.e. really need Dual Channel to perform well.

I mean you want to get decent performance out of it, thats the reason for buying it or not?

I would definitely recommend buying 2x4 GB instead of 1x8 and then maybe even upgrading to 4x4GB if you need more. Full 4 DiMM assembly/population is mostly the fastest option you get. Using 4single rank sticks in dual channel and dual rank mode.

No, you always should have 2 Sticks.

And don't get confused by the other side that doesn't have any arguments and don't show you any proof of their accusations.

The Point is:
The probability that you will be able to upgrade without swapping the Motherboard for the upcoming generation is higher on AMD than it is on Intel.

You just need to look at the older Skylake and Kabylake CPUs vs. Coffee Lake.

aka i3/5/7 6k/7k and the 8k series.
