I live in Australia and currently a RX580 8gb strix is cheaper than the 1060 6gb strix. The monitor I chose is a 2560x1080 ultrawide 75hz. I was wondering which to go with as most sources suggest the RX580 is slightly better and in my case is also cheaper. Any support would be highly appreciated.

If you want better computation if you EVER do password cracking or some other computational work the rx 580 is generally a lot better. AMD gpus have generally much higher computational power. Now that drivers have improved the rx580 generally is the same or better. Good luck. (note double check but the rx 580 I believe uses more power as well and in aussie during summer you might want lower power draw.

Thxs for the fast response.

And I was wondering if I should go with the ultrawide, or go with a 27" 2560x1440 (16:9) ips monitor and 60hz, however it wouldn't have freesync or do i go with a 24" 1920x1080 (16:9) ips 75hz monitor with freesync and invest the spare money into a nvme ssd.

RX 580 for free-sync savings

If you're going 1440p 60hz get a 4k IPS display instead you can always upscale from 1080p.

Or get a 1080p 144hz display

would skip ultra wide all together in favor of 4k.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...
