M.2 concerns

So when I was building my first computer, I put in an M.2. It said the drive was unrecognized, so I took it back out. Mistake. One or two pins came off, so I just put it back in and it worked. Every now and then (starting today) my computer will go black for a second then go back to normal. I am not sure if it is the M.2, or the new browser, or the number of tabs I had open. It has been working fine for the past few weeks. If anyone knows anything about this please help. Thanks in advance.

What pins?  The motherboard or M2?  Typically the M2 pins are pressed into the PCB and shouldn't just come off.

It was the M.2 pins. Also, I'm not taking it back out unless I'm replacing it with something NVME.

Also, the blackouts have stopped, but I'm still worried about the M.2.
