Reccomended P.C hardware

Hey,

So I am looking to buy a P.C Which should be able to game and edit comfortably. I don't really care if it is pre-built as long as it is worth it. Budget is around $2000 NZD (around $1400 USD).

Thanks

Does the budget need to include a monitor & peripherals?

At what resolution and framerate do you want to game on?

with periferials? = buy a good monitor and a 1060/580 + I5 8400/ryzen 2600
Without periferials = buy a 1070/1070ti + 8400/8600k/8700

Good monitor for gaming = 144hz 24inch 1080p or 144hz 27inch 1440p

never pre-built.(only pre-built worth is 2nd hand with 0 usage, like km0 cars)

Case: Corsair 760T  |  Psu: Evga  650w p2 | Cpu-Cooler : Noctua Nh-d15 | Cpu : 8600k  | Gpu: Gygabyte 1070 g1 | Ram: 2x8gb Gskill Trident-Z 3000mhz |  Mobo : Aorus GA-Z370 Gaming K3 | Storage : Ocz 120gb sata ssd , sandisk 480gb ssd , wd 1gb hdd | Keyboard : Corsair k95 rgb plat. | Mouse : Razer deathadder elite | Monitor: Dell s2417DG (1440p 165hz gsync) & a crappy hp 24' ips 1080p | Audio: Schiit stack + Akg k712pro + Blue yeti.

No, however a recommendation for a monitor would be appreciated.  At least 1920x1080 doesn't really matter if it's 4k or not.  Framerate, aghh not quite sure, enough to play most games competitively and won't affect performance.

On a B360 motherboard, you can get an i5-8600 instead of an i5-8600k to save some money since they're just gonna perform similarly on a non-OC board. Otherwise, you can get a Z370 board to utilize the i5-8600k.

For your SSD, you can swap it out to this: ADATA ASU800SS-256GT-C It's the same price but faster.

For GPU, you can consider this: Gigabyte GV-N107TGAMING-8GD only $10 more for a Ti version. Or this: Gigabyte GV-N1070WF2OC-8GD. $90 less expensive than current selection, but similar performance.

Beyond those, all is well :)

I'm not a fan of the case. Plastic windows scratch easily and all the unnecessary drive bays just impede airflow. This is an ATX case so the mATX motherboard would look small in the case. If you stay with this case, get an ATX motherboard.

The i5-8600K is an unlocked cpu and thus able to overclock. But it can only do so on a Z370 motherboard. The i5-8600 is a locked cpu so it can't overclock. But its performance is very close to that of a stock i5-8600K. Change either the cpu or the motherboard.

If you are going to overclock, a higher performance cpu cooler would be good.

Made a few changes to the list. Switched case, SSD, Processor, RAM, and GPU. Should have higher performance and better cooling profile. There should be enough fan headers for the fans that come with the case and those that I selected. I am pretty sure they have the 3 included fans running on a splitter so the other fan can go on a case fan header.  Suggest top mounting the other fan. And sticking the radiator for your H60 in the rear.

Build is now under 2k NZD by $27.25

Hey,

Thanks! This looks great. Say if I had a little bit more money to spend what do you think you could improve. Perhaps a different CPU? Just wondering.

Oh yeah, this is a first time build right here so sorry if I'm a bit clueless

I or someone else on the forums, if they get to it first, most certainly can. I personally would be glad to spend the time doing so. Have found that the best things to do when you are going for your first build are to: ask questions if you need direction, and do the due diligence on the part research.

Switched things around a little to fit in a k processor and z370 board. dropped down a GPU tier to do it, but decreased cost around ~$37 NZD
