So i was using my stock cooler on the FX-8350 (which is a beast) and i got temp of 80degrees celsius when playing arma 3.

Because of this i went out and bought a coolermater EVO 212x cooler and put it in my system after playing some arma 3 and checking max temps i saw i got still temps of 80c.

What to do about this.

Notes

i used the standard thermal paste which was included with the cooler.

i cleaned the old paste of before putting it on.

i checked the fan if it spins and it did.

please help me, i need it

i used a tutorial on how to apply thermal paste before putting it on

Is your case well ventilated? Can you take a picture of it?

my case is well ventilated iam using 2 corsair af led fans in the front of the case which suck air in.

on the top iam using 2 corsair af fans without led in pull to pull air out of the case.

and in the back i use a corsair af fan 120mm without led to pull air out.

and on the side panel i rock also 2 fans with led pulling air in

i have tried a new thermal paste and it still doesnt work it still gets hot i know it wont run cool but i have the cpu running base clock right now. i need some serious help because i dont know what to do anymore

Which source is telling you that your temps are 80C?

It could be an error.

Is your HSF making good (tight) contact with the CPU?

To me, that seems like the most I would do to a test the cooler. The last step for me would be to exchange another EVO 212 and see if that fixes the problem. You might just be getting a faulty one.

One thing I would check though, is to check what direction is your CPU fan blowing. It is optimal for fans to blow AT the heatsink rather than pulling out.

Can we get a picture of the case layout?

There shouldn't be any difference between push and pull. However having fan pushing/pulling air against general air flow could be problem.

To OP, are you monitoring fan speed as well? Is it running on full speed? You might wanna check on BIOS that CPU fan control is set to default and not to something like Silent.
