Does he need an upgrade soon? I'd hold off and see if Nvidia releases new cards. Though, that'll be a few month wait.

I'd get a better PSU. G2, or G1+.

Isn't there faster RAM? Every time I look at 3000mhz kits, it's only a couple dollars for higher speeds. Yes, it makes a difference, especially with Ryzen.

Other than that it looks good. You could save money and get the 2700, but if you don't like to manually OC the 2700x is an excellent choice and most find you don't even need to OC it to get the OC results. Gotta love that gen 2 XFR.

I am building a updated pc going from the Ryzen 5 1600 with a MSI B350 to a Ryzen 2700x With a X470 my price range is at $1500.00-$1700.00

now i have most if not all the parts together but i would like some info on what could be changed to make it better and or cheaper but not cheaper but weaker.

Also if the Motherboard is fine i would like to know if it is a good reviewed one because i see mix bag reviews as in if anyone here uses it and likes it.

Because my father is in need of a upgrade as he has a old Am3 that is about to die and i am going to give him the one i have now.

also i don't have time to wait on top of that due to the fact i am a disabled adult and am not allowed to hold big amounts of cash at a time so when i get big amounts i have to spend it.

New generation is near official release. Even if the new gens doesn't suit you, at least there'll be a price drop for older gens, usually.

the 3200Kit is only 20$ more so yeah i can get that

and overclocking is no problem for me to do so if the 2700 and 2700x are near same i will get it instead. and as for the PSU i will look into. the prices on these things jump up and down so much it is crazy

No it's not. ThreadRipper is close to official release, that's a different product. The 2000 series came out a few months ago.

Yeah if you're fine OCing yourself just get the 2700, there's little to no difference.

The G2 and G1+ are better units, well worth the price. You can also check out the LTT PSU Tier list, just pick something from tier 1.

Agreed, G2 is a good Tier 1 PSU http://www.besthostingpro.com/understanding-psu-tiers-updated-list/

I think the motherboard is fine, but the X470 Aorus Gaming 7 is the more popular pick with lots of cooling and RGB. Both are decent at CPU/RAM overclocking if you're into that kinda thing.

Thank you for the link i was gonna go with the Gaming 7 but i can live without the extra flare of extra RGB.

I was thinking about next gen geforce, i dont think the processor upgrade would impact a lot in the 2nd gen. Since he points out that the 1070 could go.

That deadline sucks hahaha. Imagine buying a 1080ti and got news that the new 1170 is almost as powerfull.

I'd feel no remorse as they should have done proper research prior to their purchase ;)

When it comes to this comment i already done said i can't because if i hold onto my cash settlement i loose my income that i receive so no in a case like my you can't now on to business because a forum like this shouldn't have fighting.

After reading here and few other blogs i now have

CPU&MotherBoard: Amd Ryzem 7 2700 & Asus Prime X470 Bundle

Ram: G.Skill TridentZ RGb 2x8 3200

PSU: EVGA Super Nova 650 G2

GPU: Gigabyte Gefirce GTX 1080

SSD: SanDisk SSD 480GB

Case: Cougar Panzer-G

Fans: COugar Hydraulic Bortex FR 1120M

Total Price: $1,476.23

So i'm still not hitting my cap limit of $1,700 should i push and get the GTX 1080 ti and 2700x or keep the 2700 and go for faster ram, or water cooling? i'm open for all suggestions, other then waiting because sadly that is not a option.
