Hard to say too much, with the information that's left out (read above).

But either way, there's no point going with the 360mm AiO, since the CPU is locked and because the motherboard is so crap.

The PSU is a fire hazard, so definitely change that.

A Z370 is a bit overkill. I'd go with a B360 or an H370 to save some money. A 360mm AIO is complete overkill. I'd recommend either a 240/280 AIO like the corsair h115i pro or an air cooler like a be Quiet Dark Rock pro 4. Case is nice, but you might want to buy some extra fans as for the case doesn't have the best airflow.

1. Budget & Location

2,500-3,000CAD$

2. Aim

For gaming and school work for high school/ university

3. Monitors

Alienware 25 gaming monitor : AW2518H.

Peripherals

i have keyboard,mouse, headset.

Ok so i should change the cooler. What PSU should i get then?

What recommended case is best for this build on the airflow?

Im still thinking about the motherboard. You guys are saying its overkill and its so crap at the same time.

Welcome to the forum.

Glaring things to me:

  • Look into the HP EX920 instead of the 970 EVO. Might be cheaper. Alternatively, just get a SATA drive; NVME isn't really needed.
  • I'd get an AsRock B or H series motherboard. They're significantly cheaper and look great.
  • Get a better PSU; Google LTT PSU Tier List, choose something from the first two tiers.
  • You don't need a cooler like that on a locked CPU. Just get a cheap air cooler like the CryOrig H7.
  • Case is an excellent choice, my roommate has it, and one of our friends bought one. Beautiful.

Don't forget to quote or tag people when replying to their posts, otherwise they won't now you have.

Those coolers are still significantly overkill for his requirements :P

Honestly just seems like an unremarkably usual build.

No reason to go for the water cooler; get something like a Cryorig H7 and throw an RGB fan on it, if you so desire.

Better PSU, maybe? Seasonic's newer 80+ Gold units are nothing short of spectacular, to say the least.

What is the difference between B and H? And does it offer the same stuff as the one i picked?

You can't overclock, but you don't have an overclockable CPU.

Other than that you'd have to compare them. Most motherboards offer different features.

What are high end boards you'd recommend, excluding all the parts I have?

If you get an unlocked CPU and overclock, the Z370 FTW looks fairly good for the price.

If you won't overclock, and just want decent RAM speeds, just get the cheapest Z370 board with a heatsink on the VRM.

Focus Plus Gold, Focus Gold or Formula Gold. 450W is plenty of wattage for overclocking

Ok how about the ASUS Prime Z370-A LGA 1151

That's a good one. Though for the price, the Asrock E4 and K6 would be better for overclocking. The Prime-A is fine, if you really want an Asus board, and don't mind the lack of overclocking centric features.

The doubled 4 phase on the Prime z370-A is stronger than the Tuf's VRM, and should OC better. It's 2 phase for RAM might not be as strong as the 3 phase on the TUF though.

No doublers, so not doubled. The current capability would be much better, but the performance would be the same.

With DDR4, the VRM for it won't really matter

How can you guys tell the amount of phases?

@seon123 am currently going with Buildzoid's assessments on the B350 and x370/470 boards. And extrapolating based on visual cues to other baords. Tons of vids on yotube @ActuallyHardcoreOverlocking channel. Gives manufacturer for capacitors, mosfets, and controllers. Also usually includes expected thermal generation at specific voltage and amperage for the VRMs. A few of his vids also contain the equations to do the math yourself.

Basically for doubled 4 phase I mean that due to design the capacitors are activated in pairs so despite there being 8 of them they act as a 4 phase.

Is the crystal case a good option for very good airflow? @seon123

To tag, you have to select the thing that appears under the username. The result will be like this @Sword. Alternatively, use the arrow to quote, that also gives a notification.

Which Crystal case? The Crystal is a series of cases, not a single one.
