Need help with a Computer Build with a 1.2k budget

Hi,

I'm  trying to create my first computer and i'm quite excited for it. However, I don't know much about the process so i'm trying to learn as much as I can and as quickly as I can. I took a look at Linus's 1,500$ build and I would like to base mine on his since I feel that his step by step video will help me build the computer. If you haven't seen it, here is the link to the video: youtube.com/watch?v=roFb3TNePIg .

Here are also all the parts required to create his build: ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/2sfon .

Since the video was posted back in May and I know that technology changes so quickly, I was wondering if anyone would suggest changing some parts for better ones without increase the price of the build. I also seem to have a hard time finding the graphics cards so if someone could suggest an equivalent part that would fit within the build, it would be much appreciated.

The graphic card is as followed: MSI N660Ti-PE-2FD5/OC

I will not be needing the OS nor any hardware parts such as keyboard, display etc.

I currently only play games such as Skyrim and Guildwars 2 so I'm not even sure if this computer is to powerful for those type of games (currently using a very crappy computer and I still seem to be able to play those games).

To finish things off, I would also like to save as much money as possible while also enabling this computer to be "future proof". So if there are parts you believe that I don't necessarily needs to play mostly MMOs (No FPS) then please let me know!

Thank you in advance for your help! I truly appreciate it.

I tried to keep it as close to Linus's build, but I made some adjustments -- I made sure to keep to a blue and black color scheme while improving performance over Linus's original video.

i think you can't go wrong with any of those systems, don't listen to the stuff some people about amd, amd is great, i personally use intel, but that's not because i'm a intel fanboy.

i even think the 8350 is faster then my 3570k

i think you should go with this:

CPU&Mobo:  NCIX Bundle Deal ASUS Z87-A ATX SLI Motherboard & Intel Core i5 4670K Unlocked Quad Core Processor ($329.00 @ ncix.ca)
CPU Cooler:  ZNoctua NH-D14 LGA1150/1155/1156/1366 AM3 FM1 FM2 Heatpipe Cooler w/ NF-P14 140mm & NF-P12 120mm Fan   ($59.99 @ ncix.ca)
Memory:  Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600MHz CL9 Dual Channel Kit (2 x 4GB)  ($74.99 @ memoryexpress)
Storage:  Crucial M500 CT120M500SSD1 2.5in 120GB SATA3 6BPS 7MM Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (89.99 @ ncix.ca)
Storage:  SToshiba Desktop HDD 1TB 3.5" SATA3 32MB Cache OEM Hard Drive (DT01ABA100V)  ($49.99 @ Canadacomputers)
Video Card:  GZotac GeForce GTX 780 AMP! Edition 3GB GDDR5  ($469.00 @ Canada Computers)
Case + PSU: NCIX Bundle Antec P280 ATX Mid Tower Case White + Antec High Current Gamer 850W Modular Power Supply (159.99 @ ncix.ca)
Total: $1232.95

this is what some1 else before me has posted and this is a really well build system, but like he said, you got to be fast before the discounts are gone.

without the discounts i should go with:

CPU:  AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor  ($146.00 @ Vuugo)
CPU Cooler:  Cooler Master Seidon 120M 86.2 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler  ($67.85 @ DirectCanada)
Motherboard:  Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard  ($108.98 @ Newegg Canada)
Memory:  Kingston Predator Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($56.05 @ Amazon Canada)
Storage:  Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk  ($104.79 @ DirectCanada)
Video Card:  Gigabyte Radeon R9 290 4GB Video Card  ($562.84 @ Newegg Canada)
Case:  NZXT NZXT H230 White ATX Mid Tower ATX Mid Tower Case  ($69.99 @ Memory Express)
Power Supply:  EVGA SuperNOVA 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($69.99 @ Memory Express)
Total: $1249.99

again, this is what some1 else before me has posted, but again a really well configured system, although i would consider change the graphics card or an nvidia one, personally i like nvidia more and the standard amd cooler is really bad.
i didn't configure any system myself because i think it's not really necessary with all those well configured system posted here:)
