Recently I ordered a Dell XPS 8700, it comes with a gtx 645, and I don't think it's enough to play bf4 at high settings at a good framerate. My question is can I upgrade the psu to like 650w and get a new gpu like a gta 760 or Radeon 7950.

The specs are:

Intel i7 4770

12gb 1600mhz Ram

1tb 7200rpm HDD

1gb gtx 645

Just out of curiosity, is it even possible to sli or crossfire?

On the motherboard included with an oem system its highly unlikely the only time you see that on prebuilt stuff is when it is marketed directly at gamers like alienware or its from a gaming oriented system builder like ibuypower. I would suggest the corsair CX600M its 600watt and more importantly its modular which is important as the cable management sucks in the kind of cheap cases oems like dell use it also currently has a 20 dollar mail in rebate http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139048&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=.

Oh and you won't be finding a 7950 at anything approaching a decent price they have been discontinued and the pricing on whats left of them has been jacked up buy people looking to mine lite coins you should be looking at the r9 270x and the gtx 760 in the 200 to 250 dollar range and the 770 and 280x in the 300 to 400 dollar range.

A 650W is plenty for that set up and will also be for higher end cards if you choose to go down that route in the future.

I have a 500 watt corsair and a 660, it could probably handle a 760, Mabe a 770

Even a 780Ti or 290x wouldn't be pushing it in excess, assuming the PSU has an appropriate rail configuration with enough amperage.

Would any power supply work, meaning like a normal atx power supply?

A normal atx psu will work.

Just out of curiosity, is it even possible to sli or crossfire?

A good 650-750w would be enough for a 760 sli or 7950 cf.

If you just want a single 760/7950, a decent 500w would do.

I'm a huge fan of Seasonic. My PSU is easily the quietest component in my system and has never given me problems.

EDIT: They're the OEM of a lot of huge brands btw. When you buy certain corsair PSUs you're buying a rebadged Seasonic one with a few more differentiating aesthetic touches.

Desert Storm PC | Corsair 600T | ASUS Sabertooth 990FX AM3+ | AMD FX-8350 | MSI 7950 TFIII | 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600 | Seasonic X650W I Samsung 840 series 500GB SSD

Mobile Devices I ASUS Zenbook UX31E I Nexus 7 (2013) I Nexus 5 32GB (red)

In the Dell XPS 8700 you can sli or crossfire? So maybe like a 600w is good for 760,770 or 7950?

A decent 600w would be plenty for that.

I don't think the motherboard is sli ready. I was just talking about how big of a psu it would take to run sli or crossfire.
