Is it a REAL crossover?

Go to solution Solved by bob345,

its probably a digital cross over as in there are independent inductor or capacitor that the audio goes through for a cross over. That is not necessarily a bad thing but i would not go as far as to trust it if you are going to be making something like a bi-amp speaker setup. I would go for an external eq/crossover if that is what you are after.

I'v noticed that sound blasters fatal1ty series of cards (all the x-fi and now the recon3d) there is an option to dial in a cross over frequency. but is it an actual crossover or is it a marketing thing?

i want need to know cuz if it is then i don't need to order crossover parts for a project i'm working on.

Anything branded "Fata1ity" is overpriced trash with inferior components.

I would argue with that comment. I have an OCZ Fata1ity 750w power supply and I've had it for the past 2-3 years and it works perfectly fine and is possibly the quietest PSU I've heard ever. Cost me about £80-90 back then.
