Do I need anything else?

Hello there!

Recently, I've been looking online for PC parts and have used the forums to check whether everything works or not. And it does, but I wasn't too sure if I needed anything else. Here's my PC specs. If there's anything else that I need, please reply as I've never built a PC before and I'm learning. So I'm not 100% if everything is there.

RAM : Corsair Value Select Memory 16GB 2133 MHZ Dual Channel

GPU : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5X

I wouldn't get that memory, it's rather slow. Get a DDR4-2666, 3000 or 3200 kit instead. You've also forgotten to include a CPU cooler. The 8700K doesn't come with one (and even if it did, it wouldn't even be able to cool it).

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

Thanks for the reply! Would you mind suggesting a CPU cooler for the i7-8700K please?

Get a little stronger PSU - 650W or something like that at least. It's 1080 and i7-8700k and gaming motherboard - you may want to push it to the limit some day. :)

Get 240/250 GB SSD. It's not worth to buy that cool computer without enough space for programs. And maybe you'll use it for most important games too (but you can also buy cheap 120GB SATA M.2 for that).

650w wouldnt be enough for 1080 SLI in the future and 550w is plenty for a single gpu and a decent OC on both the CPU and GPU.

If op wants future upgradability, go with something 750w or higher initially, gold rated or better. If not, the 550w is cheap to replace in the future if need be.

They have a 1tb HDD. The ssd only really needs to accommodate the OS and commonly used programs, and as a place to keep program cache.

Some games really likes SSD (GTA V, WOT etc.). If someone is not so patient, it's great to have extra space for few games.

SSD is using for system and programs, but games also saves files into user directory on C: so 120GB may be a little small.

And if he spend lot of money for CPU, GPU and MB, then few extra dollars/euros/whatever is worth to spend just in case.

A better power supply and a surge protector or UPS would be my vote.

SSDs are cheap. Id get a bigger Crucial MX500

Thanks! i might go for the Crucial MX500 instead. Only £50 more expensive than the SSD I was going to get anyway.
