How are the vrms? I remember a while back people were advising against MSI due to that.

The MSI one has an 11 phase power design so I wouldn't say it would be something to really worry about, it's a decently well rounded for a budget X470 board.

Looking for a decent board under $170 CAD for a Ryzen 2700. Needs at least 6 SATA ports and has at least 9 USB ports.

If your looking for a X470 board this one from MSI would fit, but for something more value oriented the B350 series would be something to look at.

Just noticed it's lacking the USB ports I need

It has more than enough front panel and rear panel USB ports.

Never mind I figured out what I don't need plugged in 24/7 and it's just enough. Thanks man! I can finally move from away from my 8350 after 6  years

Just to provide some options the Gigbyte X470 Aurora is also very close in terms of features and pricepoint including RGB lights if your into that.
