Yeah with the 8700 you're pretty much almost guaranteed to have a decent cpu until you upgrade

I have an i5-8400 and it's a very good cpu as, i have a 2560x1440 144hz g sync monitor, currently a gtx 1070 ti and have no problems with older games playing at 144hz  (don't play so many new games) need for speed, dirt 3,grid autosport and other games like that are for me fun to play and you can easily play them at 144hz some even at ultra and above 144fps.

 

An i5 3570k is still an okay cpu for something like a gtx 1050 ti or 1060 6gb for fortnite and pubg, gtx 1070 or faster you might need a i7 3770 or a i5 7600k or i5-8400(alot faster than a stock i7 3930k in single core performance).

 

A i5-8400 is actually a bit faster than a stock i7 6700k, i7 7700.
