£1200 PC build.

XR6

Hi there everyone!

I'm looking to build the best computer I can for a budget of £1200 (I don't mind going up to about £1.4-1.5k if I have to)

I need my computer for gaming (My Summer Car, GTA 4 and 5 and Garry's Mod in particular, with both GTAs and Gmod being heavily modded), Visual Studio and importing and exporting files in Blender.

I would prefer the build to be Windows 7 compatible (Windows 10 is fine though), and I don't mind used parts either. 12/16GB of RAM would be the minimum I would prefer in terms of RAM too though.

I plan on keeping the computer for about 4-5 years.

I'll also be doing a bit of research myself on the new and used markets.

Thanks for all of your help

1kv =)

What is the refresh rate on your monitor as well as it's resolution? It will helps us to avoid providing way more GPU than you will currently benefit from.

Also do you plan on overclocking? If no then this will seriously affect how much money we place where in the build.

1920x1080 and 48-72Hz (according to the spec sheet).

Sorry about the wait, I couldn't find the specs.

I do plan on overclocking.

Swap the Vega 64 for a 1080 for tiny bit less performance for less cost

SSD has a cache which is nice should be large enough for OS page file and several of your favorite games. HDD For mass storage. Motherboard has pretty solid VRMs as well as VRM heatsinks also ASUS has a beautiful BIOS. I7-8700K for beautiful OC potential. GTX 1070 as at 60hz it is unlikely that you'll need more than that. Cryorig is a wonderful cooler for the price point, and the Kryonaut is top notch paste which even in comparison to Arctic Silver 5 nets you a better thermal profile. 500W PSU should be more than enough for you, and let you potentially move up to a 1080 in the future. 16GB of 3200 reasonably timed ram.

Case fans included to increase air cooling profile. the slipstreamsn ARE loud fans, but the CFM they push is just amazing.

So this is pretty much the same build with an inclusion of a 144hz Monitor so that the GPU included isn't a waste. Changed processor and GPU from prior build.

Comes in at ~1323

Thank you again :D

monitor's optional but jamming a gtx 1080/vega 64 in your rig wouldn't make much sense if you only have a 75hz 1080p monitor anyways.

This one is over budget due to processor: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/nrBwq4

The below is inside the 1500 budget. It now includes CPU water cooling and a GTX 1080 along with the 144hz monitor I included before.

Seidon chosen as the 120V out performed the MasterLiquid Pro 240 so if that performance continues on up the line it is a no brainer to use the Seidon 240 than that. Case fans chosen once again for maximum airflow. It's possible to get significantly quieter fans if you sacrifice overall airflow.

Switching in these fans for the last build decreases overall airflow at a slight decrease in cost, but massively quiets the builds with the CM 690 case.

I might stay with the Slipstream fans as noise isn't as important as cooling IMO. But that's a great suggestion :)

I'm going for a strict budget of £1200 so we have similar ideals, this build is the best I have at the moment (without overclocking support) and factoring in windows 10 for £100, let me know what you think.

They're all safe sites. In fact, you can get a wider variety of parts and better prices on other sites. :)

I think I don't even have to spend that much.. I did a bit of research and found that my old system (With an i5-4460 and a B85 motherboard) would be perfectly fine if I upgraded the CPU and replaced some of the parts that got a bit destroyed such as RAM, hard drive, case etc. It'd cost me around £500-600 but I could get an 850W Corsair PSU, an i7-4770/4790, a Noctua cooler, a 4TB hard drive and a Phanteks case..
