Im hoping some one can point me in the right direction. I currently have a Cyber Power 1350PFC LCD UPS. Its dead. Ive tried replacing the batteries but it has some kind of internal fault. So Im looking for a new unit. Part of the reason I bought this UPS was 1) I run a window  air conditioner in the summer and one day the compressor kicked on and my computers hard disk died. I kinda put two and two together and figured it was a surge. 2) This UPS was rated for 810 Watts, so for my gaming PC and 1 monitor on battery it would be fine and has a little use time. We have had brown outs and a few power outages.

I know for a fact I need an Pure Sine wave UPS, due to my PSU in my PC. I also want a line interactive one, just because it smooths the power out. Im operating on 1950's wiring. I bought my UPS in 2011 and it was replaced under warranty once, and I think it was from the same issue as I have now. Some Im not sure if I want to buy another cyber power unit. I can see the batteries going bad, but the UPS should last, at least in my opinion. I dont know who make a quality UPS, at the price range Im looking at which is around $0- $200 USD.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

It had that internal fault (04) from a previous thread, I thought the new batteries remedied that? As for a UPS I would still recommend the PFC ones from cyber power or APC units however if your having issues with the wiring in the home you need to remedy that first before anything else with a window AC unit that must be on it's own dedicated circuit as most of those will use the full 15Amps or close to 1800W which would be the reason for poor quality power.

Dedicated Circuit for the air conditioner is not going to happen, dont have the money, Plus I live in Michigan, its fucking cold at least 6 months out of the year. Not really worth running a circuit, which would costs thousands, because the wire has to go from the basement up two floors to get to my room. Been running the air and PC on the same circuit forever, and recently I noticed that things with the power have gotten better. Used to get a lot of surges, but we have been replacing many of the appliances with energy efficient ones, I just replaced the light in my room with an LED light and dimmer switch. Do this has made many of the surges go away.  Plus the house is paid off and the insurance covers full rebuild cost. LOL

If I had it my way and our basement didnt flood like it does (No sump pump). I would put my PC down there and just use the basement. It stays cool in the summer and its tolerable in the winter.

The batteries did not fix the issue. It worked for about a day and then had another internal fault. Amazon was nice enough to refund the purchase but let me keep the batteries.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

The problem could also stem from the unit back feeding noise into the circuit which would cause some issues. In general a UPS will help but it can only do so much if the power incoming itself is extremely noisy or "dirty", most times the UPS will just disconnect itself and be on battery until power improves if it gets to that state.

If one was to run a circuit your going to run two since at that point it wouldn't be much more effort to pull an extra cable up to there, one for the PC and AC unit ideally.

I get what your saying. Though my unit never really went on battery power. Also, the air conditioner only uses 530watts, according to the label on it. Its not a big air conditioner, I got smaller windows in my room. Plus its not a really big room. Ideally I would just replace this air conditioner with a ductless unit, and run a new circuit for that, this way I have access to both my Windows. Because unless Im home, the air is not running, I usually only use it for sleeping anyway, so its only for maybe 8-10 hours and then I just turn it off.

At 530W it's not that bad as long as the wiring can handle it, if you can I'd recommend to use one at a time if possible just to prevent any potential issues from one thing affecting the other. The UPS should protect it as well as it can other than say getting an online type UPS but that would be going into another tier of product.
