Dedicated streaming hardware. SOS

So, I have recently build myself a new gaming pc and have started streaming. Found one issue so far. My system has a very hard time streaming and gaming at the same time. So.... I've done days of research to find a budget friendly solution to my issue and the one i have settled on. A 2 PC set up. So after yet more research I have yet to find a suitable build. I'm pulled this way for this and that way for that. My main issue is that I spent all of my money on a nice gaming rig. So that being said i need to keep my budget really...REALLY tight for this dedicated system. I have considered and older build to compensate for price, but I'm concerned that and older system may not be able to keep up. My budget is only $500 USD. I have an AM3+ mobo already and 16GB or DDR3 RAM so I'm thinking of building off off that. Will an FX series processor suffice for strictly streaming dedicated PC? Or will I be infinitely better off using a newer set up and just saving for a while? Thanks in advance.

Also, I am completely open to any and all build ideas. So link PCPP away!

prob a fx 8350 will be your best bet

x264 can utilize all the cores but it still prob will struggle tbh

Use hardware-encoding when streaming instead. It'll produce slightly lower-quality image, but it consumes practically no CPU- or GPU-time and you won't need a 2nd machine.

Is there any specific reason it will struggle? I figured and 8-core 4.0hrz would be fine since the newer Ryzen chips are clocked lower and have around the same or fewer cores? Im still pretty new to this PC building world so I apologize for my ignorance.

not all cores are equal the fx series is pretty mediocre in single core performance and the multicore performance is bad because of it

Thats what alot of people have told me, i tired it and it worked, but it seems that im still losing out on frames in my games. thats why im thinking a second pc is not a bad idea.

Because the fx-series processors are built on a much, much, much worse architecture. You can't just compare clock-speeds and number of cores, there's much more to a CPU's speed than that.

And is there a minimum clock speed i should be looking into?

Well my current gaming rig is and i7-8700k and a gtx 1080 with 16gbs or 3000mhz ddr4.

For my dedicated streaming pc i was thinking of using my old am3+ mobo and part a pc together from there.

You know a I7 8700K is a realy good cpu for streaming and gaming it has 6 cores and 12 threads. A FX cpu wolt be wurs than what you got now.... I see in youre starting topic that you have a hardtime. Buy any chance also got weird stuff growing in games ?

What game are you playing? an 8700k should have no problems at veryfast with any game.

Also, since twitch upped their bandwith limits you can now use nVENC to stream at decent quality with virtually zero performance impact. Just use the high quality preset and its really hard to tell the difference between x264 at veryfast and nvenc at high quality using like 7k bitrate..

Also have 8700k and have no issue streaming pubg at max settings in 1080p 60fps with a 980ti

I know, i was just was hoping that the stuff i have would work for a second dedicated pc to take all of the load off of my gaming pc.

I play alot of different games, but it seem like lately Overwatch has been dropping frames in game. Same thing whenever i play House Flipper. :\

Hmmm, maybe my settings are just bad? I use Streamlabs OBS and as far as i know everything is set to default except for encoding speed. I'm still new to the whole thing so i would imagine my ignorance is mostly to blame.

Linus has a video about this.

I started using sing my other pc for streaming as well.

Dont see a 8700k being good enough for every game. Not all of them are weak like pubg.

Still thinking of using a 3700k and a saborthooth board. I only put a decent card in my rig to help with rendering videos later.
