EDIT: Changed to euros

So, I've saved up around £400 for a cheap gaming pc for my brother as he is on console currently and i feel bad for him. I want some ppl to help me select some decent parts for £400 so i can build his first gaming pc with him. I really would appreciate if you could list some decent parts for the budget i have. My only concern is that he really likes fortnite. The problem with that is that the game is quite hard to run in some cases which i dont think would suit this budget thats why im reaching out to forums for professionals to help me.

Fortnite is hard to run compared to other games. For 400 euros I can put together a decent, nice looking build for him.

It won't run ideally, but will save room for upgrades, using the 2400g.

Give me a couple of minutes to put it together.

Will you need a monitor, operating system?

Does he already have a keyboard and mouse?

It might be worth looking to see if you can get a 2nd hand Dell Precision tower for about £200 then spend the money a decent used graphics card. GTX 970 are about £120 at the moment, should leave you about £80 for more RAM and SSD etc.

I have a keyboard and mouse and a bad monitor but i was thinking of purchasing a monitor a few weeks after the PC build. The operating system is also not necessary as i have many OS's. The only thing i need is the whole PC.

Another used option (and quite a standard suggestion) is a used Optiplex with a 2nd or 3rd gen i5/i7 and some GPU. For new stuff, there's something like this

Then just grab a graphics card, PC comes with Window 10 Pro license which is sometime forgotten in the price when building.

He said he already had some OS.

That is going to reduce the performance by a lot. Single channel and slow RAM won't really do well at all with an APU

Leaves more room for upgrading I guess. Kind of overlooked that. My bad.
