Hi, I need help on pc components balance. I have 1k budget, and I have already chosen 240€ cpu, (i5-8600 core coffee lake) So basically its 24% of my budget. Is that good? And I have watched other forums, and people say that it depends on what games, settings and what resolution are you gonna play, and I want to play CSGO, R6S, PUBG, Fortnite, and Rust on 1080p and low-medium settings. So if anyone would like to help me on how much I should spent on gpu, ram, motherboard etc... And by the way, about motherboards.. The cpu I have chosen requires LGA1151 and there is different prices... Should I just choose cheapest one? Please help me to choose motherboard. Thank you people.

Should just go for Ryzen, it lets you get a 1070ti, although that GPU is overkill for 1080p 60hz gaming

PCPartPicker part list: https://nl.pcpartpicker.com/list/r38H4q
Price breakdown by merchant: https://nl.pcpartpicker.com/list/r38H4q/by_merchant/

CPU: Intel - Core i5-8400 2.8GHz 6-Core Processor  (€189.00 @ Paradigit) - The i5-8600 will offer no tangible benefit over the i5-8400 especially when the money saved is spent on an aftermarket cooler that allows the 8400 to reach its max Turbo Boost speed
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master - Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler  (€39.95 @ Paradigit) - The CryoRig H7 doesn't seem to be available so this is the second choice. I'd take that over the 212 Evo if you can get it,
Motherboard: MSI - B360M BAZOOKA Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  (€109.00 @ Paradigit) - Unfortunately, AsRock's PRO4 line doesn't seem to be available but this will work fine if you can't get your hands on that, although my first choice would be the AsRock B360 Pro4 if you can find that in stock anywhere
Memory: Kingston - FURY 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory  (€169.00 @ Paradigit) - The cheapest 16GB kit of DDR4
Storage: SanDisk - SSD PLUS 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  (€64.99 @ Paradigit) - Can say from experience this is a reasonably fast budget SSD
Storage: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  (€47.99 @ Paradigit) - The legendary WD Blue
Video Card: Asus - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB Turbo Video Card  (€359.00 @ Paradigit) - Cheapest 1060 available. Get whatever 6Gb 1060 you like so long as it's blower or dual fan. Don't buy the single fan cards - the cooling on those is awful
Case: Cooler Master - MasterBox Lite 5 ATX Mid Tower Case  (€49.95 @ Paradigit) - Best budget case!!
Power Supply: SeaSonic - FOCUS Gold 450W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply  (€69.95 @ Paradigit) - Cheapest decent unit I can find

In that case the best you'll be able to get is something like the build I put above. If I could ask why don't you want Ryzen? It's great!

Why? It gets you a better GPU which is more important for gaming in most cases.

True but you could get a less expensive PSU like a Focus Gold 550w and at least get a 120GB for a boot drive. There's no excuse not to have an SSD in a new build in 2018

Always going to want a 240GB SSD at minimum, 120 just isn't enough for much of anything.

Yeah true but that's only $40 which you could easily squeeze into a $1000 build

Well use a box as a case, otherwise you'd have to drop down to a 1060 or RX 580, it already lacks an SSD to get the better GPU in near the budget.

It gets you a better GPU because it's cheaper to buy Ryzen than Coffee Lake? It still does gaming just fine.

Also there's no reason to buy an i5 8600 non K instead of the i5 8400 if you are going coffee lake.

If you're sticking to coffee lake you should be buying an i7 8700 non K so that you never have to worry about upgrading it.

But then that means a 580 instead of a 1070ti

Would stick to an RX 580 for free-sync savings

Okay. So I am from finland. Could you explain me better why I cant use i5-8600 coffee lake. And I want nvidia geforce gpu, not radeon cuz I dont know shit about ryzen and radeon specs lol

Because the 8600 isn't going to be much faster than the 8400 despite the price increase. Or Ryzen is just cheap and effective CPU in general, and AM4 gives you an upgrade path which is nice.

Getting AMD is going to save you money on a free-sync display, assuming you only have a 1080p 60hz display

On the german part picker at least it's almost double the price for a G-sync display vs a Free-sync display with the same specs

It sounds like you just need to do more research rather than throwing out half of the market outright.

And btw, I havent even thought about the display, so is that one good?  And which one is better, free sync or g sync? And Idk which one to choose, i5-8400 or ryzen 5 1600

If you're doing fps gaming you're probably going to want a 144hz display, but does that need to be part of the 1000 EUR budget now?

I have nothing better to do with my time than to save people from themselves on a canadian tech forum

Yeah, fps. I am using my old mac to play lol. I get 60fps on rainbow six siege tho, but I cant see enemies cuz I got lowest settings possible xDD And yes, I forgot to say, sorry, that the display is part of the budget

Then probably just get Ryzen 3 with an RX 580, add an SSD later and wait for Ryzen 3000 next  year to upgrade the CPU

Better off with the 144hz display for now

Also look for this one, it has a VA panel which will be better than TN for daily use
