I'll start by saying i don't have a problem with Ubisoft. I think they are the lesser evil among the big publishers. Uplay is the only launcher i'm willing to install on my PC (that's why i play Battlefield only on Xbox even though FPS with a controller is the devil's creation). But they have an amazing ability to have the same bugs across most of their games, for years now, with no fix in sight. Seriously, Years.
Most of Ubisoft's single-player games won't run unless install on the system drive. You have an SSD as a system drive and HDD for your game library? no Assassin's creed for you. i own AS 3, 4 and bought Origins (that i refunded), also FarCry 3, Blood Dragon and 4, and Watch Dogs. Also, according to their support, i need to replace my monitor (2560x1080, 75Hz), because my monitor (!) cause the games to crash:
image.png.556a6e1dd072a9a61074eef6ce9ad1ac.png

Assassin's Creed 3 was released in 2012. The same bug is present in Origins from 2017 and seeing how similar Odyssey looks i'm willing to bet it'll be the same story.

The forums are full of people having the same problems:

https://www.reddit.com/r/assassinscreed/comments/8n7f1e/assassins_creed_origins_not_opening_ubisoft/

https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/140950-ubisoft-games-not-on-c-drive/

And many more.

Basically, i have lots of games i can't play on my main PC, only on my laptop (that have a more conventional screen and only one SSD drive) and have a far less enjoyable experience. Somehow, Online-mainly games works just fine. Siege and For Honor runs perfectly from my E: drive, at 21:9 aspect ratio 75fps. I wonder why.

This post is basically a rant, but if any of you have a solution i'll be thankful.

100 % yes, also they just rehash the shit until its ot even funny anymore. i pre-ordered AC 1. because it was completly new and different from anything else at the time and i loved it the AC2 withc was ok but alread lacked a little bit of origiality and now were on version whatever-many and i cant even tell the last 4 or 5 apart anymore. also its all the same mechanic and just became a repition of the same mission but this time....at night ...uhhhh. idk they ruined it for me and way worse is they are about to do it to far cry too. up until 3 i loved it like no other game then 4 felt more flat in terms of story line already and now im scared to even get 5 which hasnt improved after hearing what other people said about it. ubi is truly just making awesome looking trailers and then slapping a new skin on there old game mechanics. i swear i want to make a list of game mechanics that are basically the same across all ubi game. like watch dogs is another bad example. their games just feel like fresh off the conveyer belt at a factory.

I wouldnt recommend the far cry 5. It plays out excactly like 4, only a different map and cooler guns.

When done in coop i belive it can be very fun. It is more fun than fc4, but all the missions are very similar.

That is not what they said, at all. Most 75Hz monitors are overclocked 60Hz panel (not even sure if there are native ones), and very few come with that rr out of the box. What they are telling you is to try and lower your rr to 60 if you have OC the panel to check if it's breaking the game. My gf never had those issues when I OC'd her monitor to 75, but who knows.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

My monitor comes at 75Hz out of the box and games crash even when set to 1920x1080 60Hz. But it dosn't matter, it's get back to my original rant - no other game crash because of monitor refresh rate. That's a joke.

Some bugs like this are potentially so complicated that no one could figure it out if they wanted to.

They've been updating their engines for such a long time that the bug could be so imbedded that many systems may now rely on the bug to function properly.

Progralming can be tricky.

Also so far cry blood dragon & Ray man origins install just fine to other storage devices for me.

This doesn’t really solve your problems but nor does not contacting Ubisoft support. I’m just explaining things you might not know about programming or forgot to consider when saying they don’t know how to code at all.
