I can see the refresh rate.

Snifferdog3

hello, I have this problem where sometimes (usually when its displaying dark/grey stuff) I can actually see the monitors refreshing, like lines going from the top to the bottom, but only on my main monitor (I have 2) I've had this problem for as long as I can remember and don't know what's causing it, I've tried multiple monitors and leads, still the same issue and it does it its worst when printing, every time I print no matter what's on the display I can see the monitor refreshing, another issue is sometimes the text on this display is smudged to the right, wiggling the lead seems to fix the lines and the smudged text for awhile, but I've tried multiple leads so It cant be the lead? thanks :)

Forgot to mention this in the main text ;)

I've had 2 GPUs first one was a amd Radeon HD 5570, and now I have a Asus Gtx 760 DirectCU II OC Edition. I've had the same problem with both so I'm not sure if it's the card, but it still might be.

It could be the Mobo. I assume by "leads" you mean the display cables?

Sounds like a driver or cable/monitor problem. If it happens with both cards, then it will probably be the display.

Yeah the wired thing is it has happened with 4 different monitors and a bunch of different cable options (VGA and DVI) and with both GPUs. Could be a driver problem, my gpu drivers are up to date.

I had the same problem with my xl2411 monitor but disable a function called "blur reduction" or something simmilar should fix this problem for you.

If it happens on 4 different monitors? Wow. Possibly driver or motherboard related then. :(

When you say you tried using DVI, do you mwan you tried a DVI-to-DVI connection, or were you using DVI-VGA adapters?

Both actually, I've tried vga-vga dvi-dvi and a dvi-vga

hey guys I figured out the problem! its to do with me not having V-sync enabled in game, when I have it enabled I can no longer see the refresh rate, with it disabled I can see it again. thanks for all your help :)
