Hello Guys,

I have a really annoying problem.

When I start my PC it sometimes takes several times to boot successfully. It's basically stuck on the screen where you can access the BIOS. I then have no choice but to force my PC to shutdown and try again.

Specs:

MB: ASUS Z97-A

CPU: Intel i5-4670k

PSU: Corsair RM-750x

GPU: AMD Radeon 280x

RAM: 2x8GB 1333 Corsair Vengance

Boot drive: SSD

PC not OCd

All parts are 3 years old, except for the PSU, which is about 1.5 years old.

So far I have updated and reset my BIOS, unfortunately without success.

EDIT: When I start my PC, everything turns on normally, fans, GPU, etc.

This sounds like your motherboard is faulty, from what you are saying it's like the board can't find something.

If you get as far as post, then it might be trying and failing to initialise something. Double check the drive as that could lead to this symptom.

If you didn't get as far as post, I'd suspect the PSU.

This is, unfortunatelly, only guessing, but based on one real life case - try to replace SATA cable (and plug it into different SATA port on MB). In one case I remember that was the problem (BIOS don't report any error, because disk was visible, but works bad so everything freezes). It will be probably different reason, but this one is cheapest for testing. :) Second (also cheap) is unplug power switch and start MB with screwdriver.

try a new sata port and or cable, also make sure that your boot drive is listed first in the boot order in the bios
