2700x or 8700K for Virtualization?
Cores are king here. The more the better.
Occasionally you'll come into compatibility problems with AMD-V although most of that has been resolved now. It's not better or worse than Intel's it's just that AMD didn't see a lot of server use for a long time so people didn't do a lot of testing. Thats changed tho with Ryzen. Anything newer than a year should work no problem.
