The 1050ti,

I also just upgraded half a year ago, From a FX-8350 it a Ryzen 5 1600, + New motherboard + 16gb of RAM.

I do not notice any difference, Need to upgrade the GPU to really notice anything.

Was it worth the upgrade?

Hell no.
I paid like 600$ Canadian.

Hardly notice anything.

If you look at it based on economy, then the only thing that for me would make sense is upgrading the CPU, you have a pretty new GTX that at least can run low-mid settings in all new games (I have a 1050Ti in one of my old builds too) and as you said, RAM prices are also pretty stupid atm.

So I would chime in on finding a FX 8350 and OC it to 4.2-4.5, should give you a good bump over the CPU you have now.

Look at eBay and other used sites, other people are upgrading just like you and maybe they have a higher budget and changes platform, selling off their old CPUs

Your new CPU should be like 50% faster in games, I assume you don't set everything to low for max fps

You're only off by like $50 for a basic ryzen system

Considering that the 1050Ti can pull a 160 FPS in GTA V at 1080p medium and the FX-6350 around 95,

I'd say there are some definite gains to be had in upgrading the CPU, but that all depends on the rest of your setup.

Ask this question to yourself:
Are you still happy with how your games are running?

Yes? Then don't upgrade.

No? Upgrade.

You can get it down to 25$ if you want to sacrifise a bit of CPU performance by using slower single channel ram

have you considered only upgrading CPU then and save more money for a full MB/CPU/RAM replacement later on? Like, get a FX8350 and OC the dope out of it, can be found pretty cheaply used and you can reuse the rest of the build you are sitting on

Just wonderning: Wouldn't the R5 1400 be a better choice. Its clockspeed is lower but he can overclovk it with that B250 motherboard. And prices are about the same where I live.

EDIT: And since he has a 1050Ti he doesn't need the integrated GPU.
