So I might be one of the many 8086K winners (maybe?). I saw the AMD counter to the sweepstakes and now it has be thinking, if i did win it should I trade it in for thread-ripper. I already have a 6700k so im not even really sure the 8086 would be that big of upgrade. if the 1950X is like 900 dollars I could trade the 8086 in and sell the thread-ripper if that allowed. I have no real use for a 1950x as I dont stream or do anything that its made for. I honestly dont even know what to do at this point or if i even won.

What are your guys thoughts?

i'd trade it in, even if you still wanted the 8086k you can always trade it in, then sell the 1950x and use the money for another 8086k.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

I'd trade it. I'd almost definitely then sell the 1950x. I would probably then build a Ryzen system, but with a $900 budget injectin, I might go i5-8400.

why would I get an 8400 when i already have a 6700K?

Trade it to sell it and rebuild a more senseful i7 8700 build xd...

Personally speaking if I were on this situation I might even not do the trade as to my user case the i7 8086K makes more sense than the TR1950X but like mentioned you could always resell it for more money.

Isnt an 8400 an i5 with lower clock and less cores then a 6700k i7? Am I missing something?
