Bezel-less phones

I was wondering, why someone won't just omit the front facing camera, put microphone on the very edge/bottom and fingerprint scanner in the back, for a complete bezel-less phone. There has to be at least one company, or? Is the camera so important?

Knowing the modern day social media user, yes, the front camera is a crucial component.

TBH, I think there are people who would rather loose the screen than the front camera.

The S8/S9's way of sectioning out screen, top chin, and bottom chin was the nicest I've seen. To be honest, I wouldn't go further than that, imagine the accidental touch inputs.

No one is gonna get rid of the front camera. They'd get no sales. Going by this concept though you end up with phones like the Vivo Apex and Oppo Find X

I don't think you'll ever see a company get rid of the front facing camera. Especially with the youngin's these days.

Interestingly for as infrequently as I use a front facing camera, I wouldn't want to be left without it.

Until Samsung puts the camera under glass. I give it a year, maybe tow.

Considering the under glass fingerprint sensor is just a camera under the screen I could totally see it happening next year, or maybe even with the next iPhone. Who knows.

They've already put a patent in for it, and rumors have it they're ditching iris scanning and incorporating 3D and under screen finger print readers in their next phone (though that's been rumored since the S8), so I could see the Note10 having the under glass camera. Fingers crossed. I still have my fingers crossed they'll make a baby Note

That Chinese (Xaomi?) phone that Linus reviewed with the slide out panel was the best. Just add the pick-up for phone unlocking like an iPhone and I would have bought one. Really cool.

I know about those, but I was wondering about completely ditching the front facing camera. Apparently, it won't happen, people like looking at themselves, or I dunno ??

While I rarely ever use my front camera, I have recently played with an LG G6 that has a fairly bezel-less design & I'm hooked for my next device. (Current Moto G5s+ looks archaic afterwards)

It has almost no chin bar, and the top is just thick enough for the camera aperture itself. 

All that said, I would like to see front AND back fingerprint sensors. So nice to just touch open when it's on a flat surface, so almost any under-screen sensor works for me.
