So I have an i5 6th gen at 3.0ghz non overclock-able on a dirt cheap asus 40 dollar motherboard. I also only have a noctua l profile cooler. Recently I have noticed my cpu getting to 100% all the time is fortnite, witcher etc whilst gpu remains around 30% (1070). So I looked into upgrading but my case is matx so all the z370 motherboards are very expensive and i don't really want to spend much more than 440 pounds on the upgrade.

Any recommendations on processor motherboard combinations to improve my game performance but is not really expensive

are you playing games on 1080p or 1440p? and what kind of FPS are you getting?
