Hi,

 

I bought new CPU i7 7820X and I am coolig it with NTXT Kraken X52, problem is when CPU gets uder load or if I try Aida stress test, core temps jumps out on 70°C  in second or two (it is far from TJ, which is 99°C I think). So my question is: aren´t those too high temps on AIO, I thought it will be cooler... I didn´t Overclocked it, everything is set to auto in UEFI, I´ve edited fan curve and pump curve but it doesn´t seem to make something better (maybe my curve is bad, but I really don´t know), but I don´t won´t to damage my new CPU.

Oh you have a post now. When I responded, all it said was hi xD 

 

But yeah, the problem is A: high core count, high TDP and B: Toothpaste between the IHS and die. You can have a baller CPU, but if the transfer between die and IHS is meh, temps won't be amazing.

well :D nevemind you have to start somehow :D

 

Toothpaste :D oke we can call it like this :D, well I used stock which was applied on AIO Pump (NZXT comes with Themal Compound) but I have Arctis MX2 I think, so I can change it, maybe then it will be better? I was thinking about bad contact with CPU die and cooler but it screwed tightly in place...

Yup, that's entirely normal.
My 6700k also jumps from 30°C to about 65° within a second as soon as I put it under load, even tho I run a custom loop.

well if it´s normal then, yeah i saw JaysTwoCents video about using different compounds (things avaliable at home) :D but thanks lot i don´t want to use toothpaste :D better Thermal Compound

To get rid of the toothpaste you have to delid the CPU, that is take off the metal IHS (which you normally put paste on), remove whatever's on the die, put your own thermal paste, maybe glue the IHS back on, then apply paste on top for the cooler. This will void your warranty mind you.

 

Also, 7820x is an 8 core.

I don´t want to delid it at least for now :D I don´t even have proper tools for it, yeah it is. :D

you could also try drop the core voltage (Vcore) and CPU input voltage (Vccin), since you arent overclocking.

yeah that is possible way to reduce temp, but if 70°C is Ok as I sad under load in Aida stress test that I leave it as it is :) probably, Once again thanks for help :)

Aida is hardly the most stressful one though. Give Prime95 a shot and you'll see

it's not built as one, but it works well as one. They even tell you what settings forces most heat and what settings forces most power draw
