This is my third 8700k build I’m doing and have built hundreds of systems since third gen.  Not looking for first time builder advice obviously but with all the deep knowledge around here I do think it’s a good idea to check out opinions especially with newer hardware.

The pricing here doesn’t matter and I’m indeed getting items elsewhere but this was an easy way to put the selections in a list.

The Corsair cooler will be a v2 (wrong one listed) for much less and replacing the stock with the Noctua running at lower rpm.  I did try to talk my client into a 2tb mlc 2.5” but he insisted on the nvme which is what I have.

Windows 10 and a 1000va 600w ups AVR not listed here.

Any changes you would have lobbied for?  And yes we talked about 2700x

i might go for a 240 or 280 if you plan for heavy overclocking, but otherwise looks good

Yes, the client preferred the case.  Larger aio’s in this case make you pull from the front which gives up 2 or 3 of the rgb and then you are intaking warmer air.  The h80 is a place holder that doesn’t break the bank.

To begin with he is not oc anything but we discussed a custom loop down the line which is what gives much better OC’s than aio.  Although I’ve gotten decent OC’s from 240mm rads they don’t generally perform as well as custom loops so I prefer 120mm aio’s when you just want silence and decent visuals, a Corsair aio in a Corsair case looks good to him.

With two Noctua industrials there’s still some surprising play room on a 120 but again the plan is not to do that unless we majorly revise the cooling.

In general, since skylake I’ve steered my clients to overpurchase a little and not OC, I believe it helps resale value and less risk, less electricity over time.

Since overclocking is not contemplated and a custom loop is planned, did you consider going with something like a Cryorig H7 initially?

I wonder about using the NF-12 iPPC 3000 fans. Unless one anticipates running them below 700 rpm, they are going to be a bit noisy.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

I’m unfamiliar with the cryorig but will look it up for future ref thanks, not sure if the local store has that and that was one of the attractions of getting these parts since all of them were available today.  Building in a few hours from now.

Rear mount running at 1000 is pretty quiet and effective until we do an ekwb.  That brings to mind whether people have suggestions other than ekwb, I’ve found them solid and no leaks but don’t really know of any other options.
