CPU USAGE 100% ALL THE TIME

Hey guys

recently i posted this thread here regarding my bottlenecking issue

And it turns out that the issue causing this was the cpu usage being stuck at 100% the whole time

so i tried almost all the fixes in that thread except for reinstalling which i did today to no avail

Litterally the moment windows was ready to use i opened task manager and it instantly showed me 100% cpu even after the cleanest windows format install

so right now im pretty damn down and confused onto how is this happning to me

could it be that i installed the cpu incorrectly or some bios/hardware issue causing this i dont know

so im hoping this issue will fixed soon by the help of you guys

SPECS

Zotac 1070ti amp xtreme

i58600k

850w PSU

z370 pc pro mobo

16gb ram

Did you try other resource monitors?  Does the system actually feel slow?

Task manager can be buggy sometimes.

well actually yes i do get the usual stutter during my operation of the os

BUT what really concerns me is that my games are not running to their full potential because of the cpu

few examples are:

GTA V runs 100-130fps average acording to online benchmarks with the same rig as mine but i run the game at 55-80 fps

leauge of legends averages 250fps in benchmarks i average 100 to 130 and drops to 70-60 in teamfights

etc...

Try CPU-Z and HWmonitor, if you get the same usage issue contact Intel and the mobo maker cuz that CPU shouldn't be at that high of usage with that GPU.

Try to see if a bios update exists for your board first, otherwise yes.

go to details and check what processes are using the CPU, then kill them and see if something happens

uninstall any hogging programs

ASUS X470-PRO • R7 1700 4GHz • Corsair H110i GT P/P • 2x MSI RX 480 8G • Corsair DP 2x8 @3466 • EVGA 750 G2 • Corsair 730T • Crucial MX500 250GB • WD 4TB

this issue still existed with the freshest windows install with no apps but the core apps

Possibly related to the power management, core optimization, or speed stepping on the CPU.  It's worth a shot if a fresh OS isn't doing anything.  And if you call either Intel or the board maker they're probably going to tell you to try that.

sometimes svchost itself might hog your CPU, happened to me a couple of times, it was related to the windows update service not working properly

ps. my league client only uses ~200MB memory and 3% CPU

if your screen is 60Hz there's no point on having 100 FPS, it'll only cause tearing, that's why the games have limiters and vsync

I also hit 250 frames but my screen can only display 85 so it's kind of a waste

i got a 144hz screen thats not the issue the issue is that my games are performing way below the expectations

Had the exact same problem a while back with a i7-2600k. Cpu 100% all the time.

A simple BIOS update did the trick ( as suggested by Biggerboot )

the idle process tells you what % of the CPU is free so... weird.
