External GPU With WIFI Card for a laptop?

I was thinking about how you cant use external GPU's with a wifi card and thought that if you could make an adapter that converted a mini PCIE into to and when an external GPU was plugged in it would switch to that and as you would be at home so could use Ethernet. Then, when you are away (and without the external GPU) it would switch to the wifi card.

Please can you let me know if you know if this would work and if it already exists.

Thanks,

Harry

it exists, and it is honestly a terrible solution on many levels.

all solutions i'm aware of are just a pile of parts, every time you want to "dock or undock" you'll need a screwdriver, its not hotswap, and so on.

It DOES work, but it's really messy and not even reasonable. Honestly a Thunderbolt 3 eGPU enclosure would be the best way to go.

So are there anything that looks a bit like:

(so you could be able to plug the GPU in whenever you want)
