Okay so my build goes as follows:

H500P

8700k

NH-D15

MSI z370 SLI PLUS

3600 cl16 Corsair LPX

EVGA 750w 80+ Bronze

970 Evo 250 GB

3 TB Seagate Barracuda

So the question that I have is that with my h500p it's generally recommended to have the front 2 fans as intake and the back and top fans as exhaust (I bought 2 extra 200mm fans for the top). This results to 2 fans total as intake (the ones in the front) and 3 exhaust (even though the 3rd fan is only a 140mm). The one thing is though is that with the NH-D15 more air is going to be pushed out the back of the case, and also with the installation of a future (maybe even 2) reference gtx 1180's (they act as exhaust themselves) I am just concerned that I am going to end up with negative pressure and I don't want that. I was thinking about having the top right fan (not the one in the front) as an intake, as the NH-D15 would be more than happy to suck that air up and throw it into the 140mm exhaust fan in the back. I haven't heard too much of anyone else running their fans like this and just want your guy's opinion and hopefully some science will come out because that's really what I'm looking for.

Un-related but if you feel like putting my mind at ease would I be able to achieve a 5ghz overclock without delidding? (Yes I know the silicone lottery but the specs for binned 8700k comes out to be 72% can do it I just don't know what cooler that was tested with or if it actually was delidded) I'm okay with 90c stress testing as stress testing usually throws the CPU about 10-25c more than what it would get while gaming and I'm only going to be playing for like 3 hours max.

Long post but thanks for the help.

I trip to make the fall shorter

your computer case isn't even capable of registering any sort of air pressure on any psi gauge.

the only thing on earth that matters with case airflow is that the air is being exchanged... thats it. if cold air is going in and warm air is going out , then job done.

i'm surprised how many people think their pc case needs a weather station in it or something.

The h500p doesn't necessarily have too good airflow (acrylic panel not the mesh) and with the fans I'm going to have setup there is going to be more fans trying to suck air out than into the case. I don't think my PSU is going to come into play with the shroud that covers it in the h500p

200mm fan at full speed moves as much air as 140mm at half speed. You are going to have negative situation anyway. Use only one top fan and use it as intake.

Top intake is good. If you want positive airflow, run your intakes at a higher rpm than your exhausts. A NH-D15 inside your case won't act as an additional exhaust--it pulls in as much air as it pushes.

How well your cpu oc's is down to luck. 5ghz without delidding isn't impossible but unlikely.
