Hello all,

I need your help with one issue,

I want to upgrade my i5 2400 and do not know how to go,

My current PC is the i5 2400, Asus P8H67- m Pro mother board, 8gb ram and sapphire radeon r9 280x GPU,

My question is if I should just change the CPU to:

i7 3770+8 gb more ram  (180 USD in my country )

I7 3770k+8 gb (220 USD)

or go for a newer platform ryzen 5 1600 + MSI B350 Tomahawk +8gb ram for now(about 350 USD) ?

For the moment I will not change the GPU.

I use my PC only for gaming and movies.

thank you, hope i was clear enough.

What about a i7 2600?

I wouldn't get a "K" cpu as you only have a H67 chipsets which is not overclockable.

More ram is always better though.

Why exactly do you want to upgrade though? Are you having performance issues?

There's likely nothing worth upgrading to, newer platform is likely the best

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

The performance issues have started to appear in games. I was thinking more about de games from this year and next. Thank you for the "K" advice.

That was my original ideea thinking more about the future games. Thank you

Get an ASrock Pro 4 for the motherboard most likely, should be the best value board in most areas.
