Sound quality True 7.1 vs Virtual 7.1

I was looking at purchasing the ROG Centurion headset (True 7.1), but found a couple of articles that said True 7.1 is much better in terms of directional sound, but the sound quality isn't as good as just having one driver on each ear like in virtual 7.1, can anyone shed some light on this? and let me know if they have tried both kinds and what there opinion is.

 

If I don't get the ROG Centurion (True 7.1), I will probably just get the ROG Strix Fusion 500 (Virtual 7.1). Given they are pretty close in price to each over I was hoping to found out which will have a better sound quality.
