GPU starts lagging. 100% usage. Please help.

I have a gtx 1070 and after like 10 minuttes of use it starts lagging like crazy. I can see in my task manager that when I boot up my PC it runs like normal, but then at some point it starts going to 95% usage. Then it starts jumping in usage. It will be at 95% and then jump to 50%, and then back to 80%. Sometimes it tells me the task manager is using 45% of the gpu. 
 

I have downloaded HWMonitor and it tells me the card is running at 72-73 degrees, so that shouldn't be the problem. 

Does anyone have any idea what's going on? I need help please.

What are your system specs?

Did you reinstall drivers using DDU? Maybe you somehow got some sort of mining thing in the background(?) heard of chrome plug ins that did this as an example. You need to check your system if DDU doesn‘t help and you don‘t find the issue. Worst case: clean win10 install

I don't know that much about this topic. How do I reinstall my drivers using DDU? What does it mean?

ok I figured DDU out. But I doesn't give me the option to boot in safe mode. what to do?
