Depends on what your doing.

Its mostly the same, but does some things better, like iphone intergration, unix based, data privacy, some osx only apps are nice, better search and little things. And the hardware is pretty good, have you used it?

I've used macOS for almost 4 years and I'd say the biggest drawback of being on it was that games weren't compatible or didn't work well, and it was hard to get rid of viruses once I got them (but to be fair, it was hard to get them in the first place).

not really unless you have a VERY specific set of software in mind to ulitilze

especially with the recent butterfly keys breaking down (and apple getting sued over not give user warranty despite it warrent existing for this purpose) i wouldn't have any faith in their product, especially in this year

there are plenty of SOLID alturnatives to macbooks from the LG gram to the dell XPS, there are plenty of premim ultrabooks with high res monitors, high quality cpu, solid battery life and much better keyboard than their macbook alternatives

OS wise i find it much easier to do everything with windows (i guess my gaming hobby mostly contributes to that) but honestly if you can learn linux, its a very solid OS with tons of flexibility and its free

at the end of the day its up to you but for the most basic things (such as web browsing, file management, etc.) they are more or less the same thing, so i'd recommend windows unless there is something you need to do on macOS which isn't a lot (though i haven't studied macOS a lot, i just remember trying macOS basic class [it was like a 1 day thing] and im not found of the finger gestures vs. simply alt+tab and other things im already comfortable with)

I haven't used for real, just tested a bit. The design is absolutly amazing but what I mean about hardware flaws are the numerous cases of macbooks breaking, something shameful for a company like Apple.

but every company has bad notebooks, and apple is normally about average or better and has better than average customer support.

“Apple got top marks, providing significantly better service than all other computer manufacturers,”

i don't this site but i don't trust any one site

apple has a known history of letting their products fail after extensive iterations documented here, and this doesn't include the butterfly switches which break down reguardless of user care and (if you watched the video its no surprise) that they refused to repair them via warranty despite these malfunctions being another flawed design by apple to be "different", however you want to interpret that; more often than not its bad and counterintuitive at times

many competing windows laptops offer more dynamics and options since unlike macOS, windows isn't chained to a single brand of hardware manufacturers; a excellent example (though high subjective of its practical use) would be asus's new zenbook which instead of a poorly conceived touchbar thing, is the touchpad being an effective 2nd screen which can do everything the touchbar can and more

Absolutely yes. You’ve got a small example of fanboyism discussions here above :-)

MacOS’s main benefit is its ease of use. That’s simply something undeniable. It’s a hands off approach that is ideal for less techy people, but might have shortcomings for most tech enthusiasts.

I use both MacOS and Windows (and Linux) and have computers and laptops of both. However, for my studies, you shouldn’t even think about using Mac. It’s all Windows and Linux.

The more specialised your application becomes, the less you’re able to use a Mac.

  1. Does the same pointless fanboyism between Android and iOS reflects to Windows vs MacOS?
Yes, even some are Linux fanboy, but that's none of my business to be honest :P. Most people I know argue Windows are better due to wider variety of software and gaming experience. But OS X to be honest is easier to use, and some software exclusive in OS X are really good for work task like Final Cut Pro. People who are new (even experienced) to tech might prefer OS X due to the UI or exclusive software.
  2. Does MacOS has features much superior than Windows?
I don't know really, they have App Store which makes installing/updating software much easier. Besides that, again it can be easier to use (unless it's a person switching from Windows to OS X, they need to relearn everything)
  3. If we consider Apple's hardware flaws and absurd high prices is still worth using it?
Not really in my opinion, but I understand some people are loyal to Apple and keep buying their products, they also have their strengths like exclusive OS unless you hackintosh stuff (illegal so don't do it). Again some people might be interested in Apple's product because the UI is less cluttered and in a way is easier to operate, just to install the software itself can be as convenient as dragging and drop it to "Application" folder.

yep more so linux

Does MacOS have features much superior than Windows?

yep, the ui as a whole is better imo, safari has picture in picture mode, tabbed file explorer and the virtual desktop are more refined, oh and the fact that my virtual desktops aren't linked if i have multiple monitors

windows, on the other hand, has support for a lot of games and more opensource software

If we consider Apple's hardware flaws and absurd high prices is still worth using it?

nope imo, the software is what sells the apple products, put the software on a non-apple product and you'll be just as happy

some context

I'm a software engineer, I prefer mac os overall since doesn't waste my time like windows overall with installing things updating and cli utilities, "they just work" with minimal effort

windows, on the other hand, took me 30 minutes to figure out how to get openmpi working, on mac one command set everything up for me

windows is great for games and everyday normal user usage,

linux is great when it doesnt break,
