I recently had a big windows update. After the reboot, windows created a new local disc (E) that keeps giving me a low disc space error because it only has 44.9 MB free of 450 MB. How do I get rid of this windows notification?

Open CMD as admin

Type 'diskpart' and hit enter

In the new window that opens - type 'list volume' and hit enter

type and run 'select volume #'  - the # being whichever volume is the same size as the one you want to hide

type 'remove letter #'  - the # being whatever letter the partition shows as

thats a boot/recovery partition. You can unmount it if you want. Don't worry abou it.

Recovery partitions are still somewhat important - it would be better to just hide it (which solves the problem) than to unmount or delete it.

your solution above unmounts the drive. Its importante, but don't need to mount mount with a drive letter. Umountting it will be fine, and it what you suggested above.
